Course Description & Information:
- Nutritional supplements are big business in the United States with billions sold each year. The course will educate the participant on which supplements are effective for specific disease and which are not. Which form of the vitamin has been shown in research to be the absorbed and utilized and what current recommendations are for the different supplements.

Course Objectives :
- Identify vitamins and minerals that confer health benefits in the management and/or prevention of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.
- Discuss the research behind the use of antioxidants in the management of heart disease and cancer.
- Review the history of government regulation of the dietary supplement industry.
